Official Tournament Rulebook

Preamble

These are official rules that have been altered to adapt to the facilities and environment on Cyber Gaming Fest, hosted by AIUB Computer Club, on AIUB Campus premises

Introduction

These Rules are designed to protect the Gaming Fest, and are intended to help ensure that it is fun, fair, and free from Toxic Behavior

Acceptance of these Rules

By participating in our Cyber Gaming Fest, including by joining any Session or Match (LAN or Online) in the Event, or by clicking to accept these Rules, you agree to these Rules. References to “you”, “your” and “each player” mean you and, if you are a Minor (see section 3), your parent or legal guardian, as the case may be.

Minors

If you are under 18 years of age, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian to agree to these Rules and to participate in the Event. In addition, if you are a Minor, your parent or legal guardian must also agree to these Rules on behalf of themselves and your behalf. If you’re the parent or guardian of a Minor, you need to accept the Rules. If you accept the Rules as the parent or guardian of a Minor, you confirm you’re the Minor’s parent or legal guardian and you agree to supervise and be fully responsible for their participation in the Event, including compliance with these Rules.

Teams

Teams must consist of three (3) starting players. One (1) optional substitute is allowed but is not required. Teams are also allowed one (1) optional coach but is not required. Team names, logos, and tags must be appropriate and free of offensive or discriminatory language. These Rules also apply to each Team that has been authorized to participate in the Tournament. Participation in Cyber Gaming Fest by a Team is conditioned on the acceptance of these Rules by the Players, Substitute (if registered), and Coach (if registered) of the Team.

Changes to the Rules

ACC (AIUB Computer Club) may change these Rules if needed from time to time by notifying you of such changes by reasonable means, including by posting revised Rules at their respective Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/aiubcomputerclub/ or at the CGF Website **LINK**. By continuing to participate in the Event, you are agreeing to the updated Rules. If you do not agree to the updated Rules, you must withdraw your participation in the Event.

Event Structure

The Rocket League Cyber Championship will feature three stages:

Round One: LAN Elimination Bracket (Best of 3) (see section 7)

Semi-Finals: LAN (Best of 5) (see section 8)

Grand Final: LAN (Best of 5) (see section 9)

Round One – LAN Elimination (Best of 3)

A total of 16 Teams will participate. Teams will be randomly seeded into the bracket. Each match is a Best of 3 series. The Winner of each match advances to the Semi-Finals. The losing team is eliminated from the tournament.

Semi-Finals (Best of 5)

The 8 winning teams from Round One will play in Semi-Final matches. Each match is a Best of 5 series. The winners advance to the Grand Final.

Grand Final (Best of 5)

The final two teams will compete in a Best of 5 match. Winner is crowned CGF 2025 Rocket League Champion.

Controllers & Input Devices

Players may use: Players may use. Any standard controller (Xbox, PS, etc.). Turbo controllers or macros are not permitted.

Substitutions

Teams may substitute only between matches, not during an ongoing match. A substitute may only play if they were registered during team signup.

Punctuality & Match Reporting

Teams must be present at least 10 minutes prior to their scheduled match time. A team failing to appear within 10 minutes of match call may be forfeited at admin discretion. The match result must be confirmed by both team captains.

Code of Conduct & Fair Play

All players must: Treat competitors, staff, and spectators with respect. Avoid any form of harassment, discrimination, or hateful language. Avoid intentionally throwing matches, disrupting games, or engaging in cheating/exploits.

Toxic Behavior

The following are grounds for warning, match penalty, or disqualification: Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks. Excessive trash talk aimed to insult instead of hype. Use of slurs or derogatory language. Intentional griefing (own-goals, sabotage, leaving match intentionally).

Technical Issues & Restarts

If a player disconnects: The match continues until the play stops at the next goal. The game may be paused, until the player reconnects. If repeated technical issues occur, an admin may pause and resolve the situation.

Final Authority

Tournament Administrators from AIUB Computer Club (ACC) have final decision authority on: Rule interpretations, Scheduling conflicts, Match disruptions, Disqualification matters. All decisions made by ACC Staff are final and binding.
